Tesco are in the process of rebranding all their stores in the UK from white to two-tone grey. This required preparation and coatings to the existing PVDF cladding panels, window frame spraying and door glazing framework, support columns, fascias / flashings and steelwork. We also carried out the same preparation and retail store repainting work to the adjacent row of shopfronts. As with all of our contracts, a large part of the project was in preparing the surfaces to optimise the finish. We had to be especially mindful that this was a store in almost constant operation, so our work had to reduce disruption to staff and customers to a minimum. This meant much of the project being carried out on night shifts or after closing on Sunday evenings.

Preparation for Re-Coating

Each surface was pressure washed to remove any contamination and loose material prior to coating. Any corrosion present was prepared to ST3 standard and primed immediately before all sensitive areas being masked to ensure that they were protected prior to spraying taking place.

A Coating to Last

We then applied the Tor-Coating Unicover S & Unicover TP coating system in accordance with the bespoke specification supplied by Tor-Coatings in order to achieve the clients desired 10-year coating warranty throughout. The coatings were applied using a combination of airless spraying, HVLP spraying as well has hand application in certain areas.
