It’s National Intergenerational Week this week and in partnership with Friend in Deed, we’re delighted to be supporting a number of local care homes to buy some much needed resources.
As corporate sponsors for this fantastic local charity, we’ve been very aware of the affect Covid-19 has had on older people and those living with dementia. Since the first UK lockdown in March 2020, care home residents have had limited opportunity to see family, friends and take part in activities. So, these resources come at a time where loneliness and isolation are more prevalent than ever.
Resources delivered to the care homes, included projectors for residents to enjoy films together; CD players, Bluetooth speakers and headphones to listen to their favourite music; and digital photo frames to display pictures of loved ones
A total of 23 care homes across the region have received equipment, that we hope will enrich the lives of its residents. Kelly, Founder of Friend in Deed, has been extremely busy delivering items to all the care homes and it’s been wonderful to see and hear how the residents have been enjoying the resources.
Film Time
“Chevington lodge residents have been getting some amazing use out of the donated projector”.
An Evening at the Opera
“Residents from The Lodge care home in Walton wish to thank Cladspray for the very generous donations. The wireless headphones are this resident’s favourite as they have enabled him to chill out in his room listening to his favourite opera music”
