Intumescent Coatings

Intumescent coatings deliver fire-resistant protection designed to enhance safety and regulatory compliance in commercial buildings.

Intumescent Coatings

Intumescent coatings, also known as intumescent paint, provide passive fire resistance for buildings by forming a protective layer on structural steel that chars and expands when exposed to heat, insulating the steel and prolonging its structural integrity during a fire.

Cladspray Solutions, approved contractors for Sherwin Williams and Nullifire, offers these coatings with fire protection ranging from 15 to 120 minutes.

Our services include thorough preparation, application, and rigorous testing to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications. These coatings are cost-effective, easy to apply, provide a decorative finish, and can access hard-to-reach areas.

We also offer a topseal application for exposed beams to match desired colour schemes. Upon completion, we provide a fire certificate and a lifetime guarantee for the coating system.

Benefits of Intumescent Coatings

Fire resistance

Intumescent coatings expand when exposed to high temperatures, providing vital protection during a fire.

Preserves structural integrity

These coatings protect steel structures, preventing deformation and giving more time for safe evacuation.

Aesthetic finish

Our coatings provide a smooth finish, allowing you to maintain the visual appeal of your building without compromising safety.

Compliance with fire regulations

Intumescent coatings help your building meet necessary fire safety standards, ensuring legal compliance and peace of mind.

Timber Fire Protection

Cladspray Solutions specialises in applying timber fire protection coating systems, providing fully certified solutions for both interior and exterior timber.
Timber, being a combustible material, poses significant fire risks, impacting health and safety. Our timber fire protection creates an insulating layer on wood surfaces, controlling the spread of flames and fire, and maintaining structural stability for safer building evacuation. Suitable for timber frames, tongue and groove ceilings, beams, fire doors, roof trusses, and both internal and external surfaces, our coatings work on softwood and hardwood.

We offer fire protection upgrades to meet various building regulations, including class 1 or class 0 spread of flame and higher ratings like 30 or 60-minute coating systems. As approved applicators of leading brands such as Envirograf, Zeroflame, and Thermoguard, we provide finishes in clear, white, or coloured systems with various sheen levels. We offer technical advice to ensure the best system for your needs. For example, we completed a project on a Grade II listed barn near Bury St Edmunds, achieving a class 0 spread of flame finish on all internal timber walls, ceilings, and beams within a tight 3-day deadline. The result was a stunning clear matt finish, fully certified to meet building control regulations.
